Leaving a Faith Legacy Workshop

All parishioners are invited to attend a hands-on workshop to explore ways to leave a faith legacy of your spiritual journey through stories, photographs, and mementos. When we think of leaving a legacy to our children and grandchildren many of us think in terms of a financial inheritance, bequeathing family heirlooms, or genealogy records. Sharing your faith stories is equally a treasure to leave behind.  Faith – Pass it on! The workshop will be held Sunday, April 2nd from 1 to 4pm in the MS room. There is no cost but register by March 29  by email, zori@att.net. This workshop is being hosted by WinGS, our women’s ministry.

Human Trafficking and Your Family

We will be holding a program in 2017 on important issues affecting us all – human trafficking and our unconscious involvement in its perpetuation. By definition, human trafficking is the exploitation of persons in labor venues or commercial sexual activity through the use of force, fraud or coercion or the enticement and involvement of youth, under the age of 18, into sexual conduct.

Studies clearly show the U.S. culture has grown more tolerant of sexual exploitation, more violent, and more addicted to pornography. Consumers willingly, or through ignorance, continue to buy goods that are tainted with slavery in their supply chains. In the U.S. human trafficking is advanced by the demand for cheap products and the growing tolerance for sexual exploitation in all forms of visual and social media.

Both these factors directly feed into the demand for enslaved persons and thereby allow traffickers to make their profit. The 2017 program will help us learn how to stop this trend.   To see flyer Click Here
