Please join us for six informal sessions beginning Thursday September 4th, 7 – 8:30 p.m. The sessions will include sharing, and updates on the Church today. Please contact Kathleen Hass at 989-7400 for additional information.
Young Families Ministry
Are you an engaged, married young adult, or parent of young child and looking to make lasting friends, grow in deeper faith, and have a fun time? If so, please check out the new young families ministry for couples in the 20’s and 30’s. The group is facilitated by a young married couple. Meetings consist of faith topics relevant to the age group and life stage, as well as fun family activities. Children are welcome! The next meeting will take place on Sunday, July 20th at 1pm in portable Y-3. Please check out our Face book page for more information and to RSVP.
We hope to see you there!
Recommendations of the Campus Development Committee
#1 Revitalize our ministries and possibly create new ministries.
#2 Establish a stewardship program/ministry to help with the education and communication efforts around ministries to make it easier for parishioners to align their time and talents/gifts with the right ministries.
#3 Increase Sunday collections and other contributions so we can revitalize and grow our ministries.
#4 Update the Master Plan for Campus Development to include the newly designed building
#5 Begin a Pledge Drive in late summer with a target of raising $1.2 million over the next 4 years. Funds would be used as follows:
Temporary Hold on 5:00 P.M. Sunday Mass
The last Sunday on which we will celebrate during the summer the 5:00 P.M. Sunday Mass is June 8th . We will resume having this Mass on September 7th. Edge and Life-teen had their last session Sunday, May 18th. Because of various factors, this announcement was not made to coincide with the conclusion of Edge and Life-teen so it was decided that we would continue to the next logical point to stop, which is June 8th, Pentecost Sunday. Two main reasons for not having this Mass during this time period include: 1) it was begun primarily to support Life-teen and Edge; 2) it gives a needed break to those who put a lot of time and energy into making this Mass the beautiful celebration that it has become.
Ministers normally scheduled for this Mass are invited to add a Mass time to their MSP profiles for the summer, because of the many substitutions made among all the Masses due to summer travels.
Divine Savior invites all members of the parish to Eucharistic Adoration on the first Friday of every month in the small conference room in the office. Adoration begins at 9:00 am immediately after morning Mass and continues utill 3:00pm.
This devotion allows a person the opportunity to provide further thanks for God's love and time to enter into a more personal communication with God. We are encouraged to communicate with God in the silence.
